"What's Your Goal?" is a newly launched football podcast aimed at supporting, educating and inspiring youth footballers and their parents. Hosted by Katie Chapman, former Chelsea captain and Lioness, and Dr Simon Moore, chartered psychologist, the podcast was created to fill a genuine gap in the industry around fitness, mental health and the politics of youth football. EC Stream worked with the podcast to increase its reach and awareness among industry players and target audiences, and to identify opportunities for new sponsorships.

THE CHALLENGE

Launching a new podcast and opening the door to sponsorship opportunities

Despite the strength of its hosts and the relevance of its content, the podcast needed a clear promotional strategy to ensure it reached the right audience and attracted the attention of potential sponsors. With a lack of existing visibility in the market, the team required expert support to cut through the noise and position "What's Your Goal?" as a credible and authoritative voice in the youth football space.


OUR SOLUTION

A 360 launch strategy rooted in mental well-being and community

EC Stream created a targeted list of media publications, journalists, clubs and associations representing the podcast's core audience. A press release was distributed to announce the launch, alongside the hosts' availability for interviews, followed by a second release to mark the publication of the fourth episode. Social media was used in parallel to amplify the news and engage a broader audience, ensuring the podcast gained traction across multiple channels simultaneously.


THE RESULTS

Media interest, interview invitations and positive industry recognition

The campaign generated strong interest from both journalists and fellow media podcasts, resulting in a series of interview invitations within the first month of outreach. The response was overwhelmingly positive, not only from the media, but also from the podcast's growing audience and other key players within the youth football industry, laying a strong foundation for future sponsorship conversations.
